Learning the laws regulating the use of firearms is a must for responsible ownership. It is the applicant’s responsibility to know Federal, state, local city and county laws and ordinances pertaining to carrying a concealed weapon and weapon usage.

In California, The Chief and his staff are required to follow strict state and local guidelines when performing the necessary background checks for issuing Concealed Carry Weapon licenses. Due to the detailed nature involved with conducting these background checks, appointment times and processing times can take multiple months.

• Applicants will have the ability to submit New, Renewal, Modification and Duplicate applications.
• Applicants will have the ability to pay their non-refundable application fees online
  • For credit card transactions, a nominal credit card transaction fee will be charged. Charges will be viewable prior to transaction completion
• Applicants will have the ability to schedule appointments to submit NEW Carry Concealed Weapons license applications
• Appointments for Carry Concealed Weapons licenses will be processed on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

• Applicants will be able to select the method of notification they prefer regarding status updates and all correspondence related to their Concealed Carry license application as it moves through the process.
